With a combination of amusement and candor, Aromatherapist Natalie Ziegler says her company, EssentiallYours®, founded itself. Today, its website offers 475 products and more than 150 aromatherapy recipes to loyal clients from far and wide.
Having come from an extensive background in marketing, sales and professional development, Natalie first began dabbling in aromatherapy out of desperation and necessity. Then only in his 30s, her husband, Mike, suffered with eczema and had been told he would need to use cortisone cream for the rest of his life. "But cortisone cream slowly thins the skin over time, resulting in an eerie translucence that is neither healthy nor appealing." Natalie said. "There had to be a better answer." So, while on vacation in Virginia Beach, Natalie visited the Association for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.) where she hunkered down in the library for a week, researching treatments for Mike's condition. She read about the effective use of essential oils to treat a multitude of conditions, including eczema. Putting her new found wisdom into action on Mike's dilemma, it was only one hour after the very first application his skin problems had vanished. They were both shocked. And transformed.
From there, Natalie began using aromatherapy for herself and her family, becoming a master at understanding the various properties of the oils and blending them in a way that continued to produce incredible relief and results.
It wasn't long before friends began asking for blends, and so "the little company that insisted on being a company" came to be.
Differing from many aromatherapy businesses that specialize largely in candles and soaps, EssentiallYours® offers a wide range of remarkable products for an uncountable number of conditions including acne care, anti-aging, sunburn care, migraine relief, insomnia, eczema and psoriasis, and wart removal. There is also a line of personal hygiene products such as shampoo, deodorant spray and crystal deodorant sticks.
"All of our products are 100% natural and made from only the highest quality therapeutic grade oils." Natalie says. "Each oil has its own inherent properties: Some are antiseptic, some anti-inflammatory, some are analgesics, and so on."
When clients come to her with symptoms, Natalie studies the nature of the complaint and then selects the oils most conducive to relief. Most of her recipes have between four and eight oils combined in them and can be absorbed via massage, inhalation, diffuser, or by soaking in a bath.
"This business is pure joy to me, drawing calming people into my life every day," says Natalie. "The company has had its own life and I've been gifted to be its facilitator. We don't own the land: We are here to tend it. EssentiallYours® is a gift given to me to tend."
